Pedagogy
I believe the classroom should be a structured space of possibility—one where students are challenged to think critically, communicate confidently, and recognize their capacity to shape the institutions and communities around them. Students learn most deeply when theory is connected to problems they recognize, complex tasks are broken into meaningful stages, and they have opportunities to apply, reflect, receive feedback, and grow.
Across my communication and media courses, I use discussion, case studies, collaborative analysis, applied projects, reflective writing, and presentations to make learning active and relevant. I establish clear expectations while creating multiple ways for students to participate and demonstrate what they know. Whether students are analyzing a digital platform, preparing a speech, or working through an interpersonal conflict, my goal is to help them connect ideas to lived experience and use communication as a tool for thoughtful, ethical action.
